Students in year 10 at Jubilee High School in Addlestone have been taking a keen interest in American politics as part of their history lessons.
The 14 and 15-year-olds had lively debates last week to tie in with the American elections and produced their own inaugural speeches based on the ideas of former president Franklin D Roosevelt.
As part of its application for performing arts specialist status, Jubilee International High School in Addlestone is joining forces with other schools.
Head teacher Gareth Balch met with his counterparts at St Anne's Catholic Primary School in Chertsey, Holy Family RC Primary School in Addlestone, and Salesian School last week.
The two primary schools expressed an interest in working with him, and James Kibble, head teacher at Salesian in Guildford Road, Chertsey, agreed to become the secondary partner of Jubilee.
Children from two nurseries in Addlestone celebrated Chinese New Year on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 of January.
Forty youngsters aged three and four at Darley Dene Infant School, in Garfield Road, created a traditional dragon to dance around in, while Holy Family primary in Ongar Hill took their reception children to Beijing Restaurant in Station Road, Addlestone to celebrate.
Chinese New Year started on Monday (26) as the Year of the Ox.
Nursery Teacher at Darley Dene Linda Lyons said: "It was a really nice day. We told the children the story of the Zodiac and gave them taste Chinese food to let them explore other cultures. They really enjoyed it because they were talking about it for a while afterwards."
Holy Family took 29 four to five year old children to the restaurant for the second year in a row, where they ate noodles and spare rib dishes.

Jubilee High School in Addlestone has been awarded the joint 12th most improved school in England.
The results appeared on The Guardian's website on January 15, which rated the 123 most improved school in England between 2007-2008 for pupils who received five or more A* to C grades in subjects including English and Maths.
Jubilee International High School are asking parents and companies to collect vouchers for a book token scheme.
From January 11 Books For Schools tokens have been appearing every day in The Times, and the school would like to get as many books as possible from a choice of 170 for their library.
There are 12 tokens printed every week, and each book can be exchanged for 10 tokens.
The school will place their first order in the spring.
Addlestone Historical Society is holding an illustrated talk by member Christine Kendell on 'Our Grandmothers' War'.
The talk will be at Addlestone Community Centre in Garfield Road on Tuesday February 3, from 8pm.

Hairdressers are being targeted by burglars after five salons have been broken into in the past two weeks.
Expensive specialist equipment is being stolen such as cutting scissors and hair products, and police have been warning hairdressers in the area to be alert.
Wake up shake up was the motto at an Addlestone school last week as the children took part in aerobic workouts before lessons started.
The pupils at St Paul's C of E Primary School, in School Lane, were led by a sports coach in a five minute session first thing in the morning, and each class did it two days a week.
The 'Wake Up Shake Up' campaign is aimed at both getting youngsters fit and healthy and waking their minds and bodies up before their lessons start for the day.
Scouts from Addlestone and Chertsey braved the freezing weather to go on their annual winter camping trip last weekend.
Members of 1st Chertsey and 5th Addlestone Scout groups travelled to Chigwell in Essex for the camp on Friday January 9 evening and stayed until the Sunday, when they were bussed back to Chertsey.
