'I want to make sure those fish get fed.'

Those are the last words of a video CV created by David Taylor for a job that sounds too good to be true.

Rubbish was not collected from parts of Addlestone on Tuesday February 24 after two Runnymede Council lorries broke down at the same time.

Residents living in the Bourneside Road area of the town were due to have their bins emptied on Tuesday morning, but with no word from the council, it was not collected.

An industrial bin has been charred and badly damaged outside a well-known Addlestone shop.

On Thursday February 12 at around 9.30pm an industrial bin in the back yard outside Oxfam caught alight, causing it to disintegrate.

Addlestone man charged with robbery

A 33-year-old man has been charged with robbery following an incident in a supermarket in Addlestone earlier this month.

The incident took place between 1.30pm and 2pm on Monday 2 February when the 61 year old victim, was robbed in Iceland in Station Road, Addlestone.

A VEGETABLE growing weekend is taking place at an Addlestone Garden Centre in March.

Wyevale Garden Centre, in New Haw Road will be hosting the event on Saturday March 7 and Sunday March 8 for anyone interested in growing vegetables.

Staff at the centre are also asking children, their parents, and teachers to enter a competition for the use of one of their vegetable patches.

Even grandparents can enter, by nominating a school and writing a 200 word essay on why they should get it.

Because on Saturday 18, twenty men, women, and children, will actually be running through the street's of the town with industrial sized bins, pushing each other in teams of six to raise money for Guildford based children's hospice Chase.

Free Golf lessons

A PROFESSIONAL golfer is giving out free lessons in the Spring to celebrate being awarded a prestigious title.

Andy Little, 26, of Emley Road, Addlestone, was recognised as one of the top 50 best worldwide children's golf coaches by U.S Kids golf in January.

Proposed council tax levels for the next financial year have been cut after a last minute decision by Runnymede Council's leader.

Cllr for Addlestone Bourneside John Furey made a speech at a special council meeting on Thursday February 12 where he proposed to cut the tax for a Band D property from £133.11 to £132.93.

A white powder believed to be cocaine was found in an Addlestone flat during a heavy police raid on Friday February 13.

A 29-year-old white man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs at the scene and released on bail after being handcuffed during the forced entry at around 6.45am.
